Freeburn, died Saturday,
Oct. 31, 2009, at the South
Williamson Appalachian
Regional Hospital.
She was born in
Freeburn, Feb. 28, 1936, the
daughter of the late Russell
and Victoria “Vick” Ratliff.
She was a retired U.S.
postmaster and was of the
Apostolic faith.
She was preceded in
death by her husband,
Ermal Ray “Rusty” Stump;
one daughter, Marsha Lynn
Ferrell; and one brother,
Luther Ratliff.
She is survived by two
sons, Jerry Keith Stump and

Eugene “Dickie” Skeens,
70, of Freeburn, died
Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at
his home.
He was born in
Freeburn, Dec. 30, 1938, the
son of the late Chester and
Etha McCoy Skeens.
He was a coal miner and a
janitor at Freeburn Grade
School. He was of the
Apostolic faith.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, Neva Joyce
Ratliff Skeens; one brother,
Cletis “Bo” Skeens; and two
sisters, Delores Faye
Hatfield and Mildred
Hatfield.

Oct. 25, 2009, at the South
Williamson Appalachian
Regional Hospital.
She was born in
Buchanan County, Va., Oct.
10, 1953, the daughter of
Beatrice Blankenship
Daugherty of Stopover and
the late Leo Daugherty.
She was a homemaker.
Besides her mother, she
is survived by her husband,

Sadie S. Dotson, 92, of
Phelps, died Thursday,
Oct. 15, 2009, at Pikeville
Medical Center.
She was born in Phelps,
Feb. 16, 1917, the daughter
of H. Thomas and Ida
Wolford Sanders.
She was a homemaker
and was a grocery merchant
for 13 years and a
bookkeeper. She was also a
50-year member of the
First Baptist Church of
Phelps.

55, of Vulcan, W.Va., died
Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at
his residence.
He was born Jan. 19,
1954, in Mingo County,
W.Va., he was the son of
the late Hursel and
